Thank you, Flex Space.

After several memorable years calling 19 Sheffield Crescent home, Flex Space has closed its doors.

The Jade Building was more than just a workspace to me — it was somewhere I genuinely loved spending my time. From the quirky layout to the natural light to the way it just felt different from anywhere else, there was nothing else quite like it in Christchurch.

But what made it truly special were the people. I had the privilege of sharing that building with some genuinely great tenants over the years — people who became more than just neighbours down the hall. Whether it was a quick chat in the kitchen, helping each other out when something needed sorting, or just knowing there was a friendly face on the other side of the wall, it was a real community.

When the building’s use changed last year, the environment shifted in ways that made it increasingly difficult to keep going. Despite my best efforts to hold things together for the tenants who were still with us, we weren’t able to continue operating the space the way it deserved.

I’ll miss that building, and I’ll miss the people in it even more. Wishing every one of you the very best in what comes next.
